Prevalence of COPD among tricycle drivers using COPD assessment tool from GOLD classification: A cross sectional study

Abstract: Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary disease (COPD) is the most common chronic lung disease in the world; its associated health burdens and cost are mounting. Recent evidence suggests a rapid decline in lung function occurs and may be prevented if acted upon early diagnosis. These research aims to determine the prevalence of COPD among tricycle drivers of San Fernando, La Union. This will classify the severity of COPD among newly diagnosed tricycle drivers using pulmonary function test and risk stratification using GOLD classification and discuss the clinical profile of tricycle drivers.  This is a cross-sectional study among tricycle drivers of San Fernando, La Union. The sample size was computed using Creative Research Systems Survey Software Sample Size Calculator of the Survey Systems. From 1700 population of tricycle drivers in San Fernando City, La Union, drawn a total of 175 samples with 95% confidence level. Inclusion criteria include all tricycle drivers at
